How to support your own mental health

A lot of people, even myself seek help for mental health. Which is very understandable because we all need that ear, or someone to understand us. But when i realized that i didn’t have that support like i thought i did. I had to support my own issues to keep me going. Remember if NO one support you, then who will? So on that note all you have is yourself. I feel it’s always important to share a few tips/hacks on how we as a society can deal better with mental health in our homes or in our lives in general. There is millions of people who suffer from mental health, and always run to google for answers, support, & tips, just like i have at a point in my life. When you heal it’s okay to help heal others. Remember that. Here are 3 main tips to help you support your own mental health.

#1: PROVIDE A SAFE PLACE FOR YOURSELF

I think this is very important. You have to be somewhere comfortable and be around people who make you feel safe. Try to open up and be honest about your mental health, because beating yourself up about isn’t going to help you. Don’t be in denial or afraid to live in your truth. Make sure your home doesn’t add more to the problem. For an example: You can start setting up creative stuff in your home like, paintings, positive messages you can tell yourself that you written down on sticky notes, changing your home around, getting rid of old memories, & so much more. Make sure when you walk in your home, that the energy brings you nothing but happiness,

#2: TAKE A SMALL 2-3 DAY BREAK

Yes take time out to find yourself. Try to target the real problem/issue on what’s bothering you. Sometimes we don’t take breaks as we should, but it is important. Even if it’s only for 1 day. Your happiness is the key, and being depressed will only put you in a place that will kind of lock you in and it be hard to get out. Life is full of challenges but you have to learn how to fight through it MENTALLY. Work on stability & physical emotions. (How do you respond when you are emotional? Do you throw tantrums? Do you stay closed in?) A break to just refresh your mind, heal your pain, and turn negative thinking to positive thinking can really help. While your on break, ask your self questions like the ones listed above then start answering them. After that, figure out how can you fix the problem. Don’t over work your ability to be who you always dreamed to be by losing out because of your mental health, it’s time to heal it, and be a voice to help others heal theres.

#3: PRACTICE ON SELF-CARE

SELF-CARE is so important. Sometimes we tend to put others before us, and love people more than we love ourselves. But you never suppose to put no one before you, you have to love yourself first before you love anyone else. You are what matters. It might seems or sound selfish but it definitely isn’t. Work on finding things that make you feel good, make you happy, make you feel motivated. Like for an example: Blogging, journaling, & going for walks is part of my self-care routine. It makes me feel good and complete. You just have to figure it out. How to recover from a stressful week: 6 tips for getting back on track

Today i want to talk about recovering from a stressful week. A topic a lot of us can relate to.

We all have a time in our when we have a really busy week and that busy week turns to being stressed, overwhelmed, exhausted. We are all so busy and its tremendously hard to get caught up with everything. You know the saying ” I have to much time on my plate ” well this time ” I have to much food on my plate ” and it’s time to release it because it’s to much.

I have been totally guilty of this, that’s why i chose to write this article. So today i wrote 6 tips step by step, that might can help you like it did for me!

38d89399-acc2-4f8b-bef1-911f8e9211d2

1| Brain Dump

Let go of all the negative thoughts you been having during that stressful week. You can’t enter in a new week with negativity or downing yourself because you haven’t been quite happy. Let it all go!

2| Avoid that technology crap

You know exactly what i mean, Facebook, Online shopping, laughing at every meme that comes across your screen, taking selfies 90% of the day. The things that you really suck in & have the urge to do, because next thing you know it’s been an hour.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes this is exactly the “me time” i need and you to maybe. But, if we are doing this consistently through out the day and then stressing because we do not have enough time in our lives to accomplish everything, then we need to re-evaluate. “LITERALLY”

3| Take Breaks & Time for yourself

When you are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out the best things to do is just take a little rest and relax. We all need breaks from time to time. Even if your daily schedule seems never-ending. Take time to recharge because you can come back to reality all refreshed & motivated, instead of cutting your to-do list down and being exhausted.

4| No excuses, stop procrastinating

Procrastination will burn you out and you will start making excuses to avoid any task you had scheduled. But, usually if I can just make myself start one task at a time, I will get right back into things and feel more productive. Sometimes just forcing yourself to keep going is what all it takes. If you feel your lacking because you been working extra hard, then that;s when taking breaks come in.

5| Seek for help

A lot of people fear to ask others for help. Some times because of faith & pride, but it’s okay to use a helping hand. Like myself, I hate asking for help, but i came to a realization, there is people out here that are willing to help, and also might have knowledge in things i’m still trying to figure out. When you need help, ask for it.

6| Plan, Pin point, Schedule

It’s so important staying on track and avoiding exhaustion. Planning out your future days, weeks, & months, are a brilliant way to stay on track. Also, helps you figure out more on what you need to accomplish and all your priorities.

Creating a long-term schedule of task to help you see an outlook of everything +timing will definitely help you out and you will feel less overwhelmed. Start breaking down your goals & times, so you will stay consistent.

So there you go! I hope these tips help you overcome any future stressful weeks and get you back on track. The biggest factor is that you need to take care of yourself and make time for self-care. Get help when you need it, relax, take small breaks, and work on time management. Incorporating these simple things should help you avoid stress.

4 Simple Self-care ideas for short timing

Think of some of the little things that used to put a smile on your face, things that used to make you feel happy and content. Things that brought joy to your life as a child.

I remember i use to go outside to pick up all the leafs in separate the bad ones from the good ones. I also remember playing jump rope and hop scotch. Even times when i use to sit in the window and watch everyone pass by or watch the rain come down.

We all need “time” but we have to admit that we need/deserve a small break. What are your challenges with practicing self-care?

I always say “You only can take care of yourself better then anyone, because you know how you want to be treated”. That was always my mood.

GO BACK IN TIME

No matter how old you are, you are never to old to take it back to the old times. Go skating, jump in the bed, have a karaoke session.

Think of things that use to bring you happiness, things you don’t really do any more due to time, make them part of your self-care routine.

MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

Take time out for yourself. Go to your favorite restaurant, go grab your favorite ice-cream, or go find something to do that you can schedule in just like you would schedule a doctors visit. Don’t cancel out or nothing, really make this time out for yourself.

Don’t forget, self-care isn’t just about always looking good. My off days from my job are Mon, Tues, Wed. So when i’m off work, I make sure i dip into some of my money and go get me a Jamba juice, hit the nail shop in get a color change or fill, maybe go to the movies and take a walk at the park. I also like being in complete silence for 30 mins, and man it makes me feel so much better. I’ll even make me a cup of coffee and in the process of doing that, ill go head in do some laundry. I also enjoy playing The Sims 4. So i will make time to play for about an hour because it helps me mentally to just relax in not think to much. Of course, I’d love to be able to take the rest of the day off, put my feet up and do nothing else but write in my journal or just nothing at all, but all day? that sounds to good to be true honestly, and it’s totally fine. After a tough/stressful week, 30nminutes of self-care, spent alone, just by doing nothing or doing some breathing exercises can be enough to get you energized for the day.

NIGHT TIME UNWINDING

Most of us don’t really take unwind really serious, we usually just take things off in jump in the bed. Lets make our unwinding more thoughtful. Lets make our night unwind ritual part of our self-care routine.

Stop bringing things to the bed that doesn’t help you with unwinding. For an example: No electronics. No lap top, no phones. Use this time to refresh your brain. Read a book, take a nice warm bubble bath, listen to a podcast. I do my night care routine. I put on a face mask because it relaxes me, then rinse with hot water, brush my teeth, tie my hair up, and make me a cup of caffeine free tea. This helps me unwind, relax and get prepared for bed time.

EMOTIONAL RELEASE

Some people don’t like leaking out there emotions and keep them bottled in, and some actually feel more relieved releasing it out. But.. how about you check in with your own emotions.

My #1 emotional release is journaling, Journaling has got me through a lot of issues, emotionally & mentally. Some may think it’s weird or corny, but writing out your feelings actually can help with more than you think. You will be surprised how many people actually write, even if it’s in there notes. If you never thought about journaling I highly suggest you start your journey with some writing/journaling prompts.

Writing down all your feelings, your thoughts, your questions, your fears, can bring some much clarity into your life. This is definitely useful if you normally get overwhelmed at times. It’s time to be more mindful to yourself, and your own emotions. Sometimes you have to just out yourself first, and work on your own feelings.

YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH

         YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH…

SO WHY DON’T YOU BELIEVE IT?

WELL, I HAVE SOME GOOD FACTS THAT MIGHT HELP YOU THINK DIFFERENT. “IN A GOOD WAY”.

img_1637

You read that title, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. I know we all have our days when we are down and we don’t feel as accomplished like others, but don’t never doubt who you are. The world is in your hands remember that. Believe in yourself, believe that you are capable and blessed to be you, and to do whatever you desire. The key to success begins in the mind and heart. On that note demand yourself to turn your ambitions into reality. You dream big, aim high and are determined to translate those ambitions into actions.

I have been so insecure in myself countless of times. I didn’t need no one to put in my mind how i am because when i was insecure it was something I told myself already. I felt like i lived beyond my expectations. I started to really go days and nights just figuring it all out which led me to here http://www.theonlyseqouiab.com. Life changing i must say. Write affirmations to make you feel better, this is what I do, whenever I feel some low self-esteem kicking in, I write notes to myself. “Seqouia you can do it” “Seqouia you are going to be okay” “Seqouia you are winning”. Trust me it works.

Talk to someone who is skilled, and able to read your body/mind and actually mentally help you. It can be a therapist, counselor, coach, or you can just simply do it. Develop the skills on your own and practice self-care/self-love. The ultimate key to success or believing in yourself starts in the mind. Once you run with that, you will be unstoppable, and thats a fact! No matter what when you dream big, reach high you will be determined to change those goals into actions. Sometimes, just seeing yourself achieve the results you want is living proof that you are good enough, and that you can do whatever you want if you put your mind into it.

When you look in the mirror work on building your confidence up. Don’t be so unsure in yourself. You never know what greatness you have hidden behind that pain. Sometimes we just need a boost and a little push for us to realize our worth, to realize our happiness, and how we should really be feeling. We have to give ourselves guidance and be determined to believe in who we are and how we “NEED” to love who we are without doubting our love we have for ourselves. Being fearless is the best way to be, don’t be afraid to find out where you stand. Don’t be fearless to learn and go through different changes. Weigh out your options and know your WORTH.

Hey my loves hope you enjoyed this blog, and i hope this helps. You are more then welcome to comment your opinions and how you feel about this post, or just your past or recent experience. 4 Tips to removing negativity from your life

We are all old enough to understand that negative energy is everywhere. We also know that being around negative people can affect you as well. So what are you going to do about it? Continuously feed into there bullshit? or work on removing all that negativity away from your life. Aren’t you tired of sharing all the exciting things that are happening in your life with people you truly care about, and all you want them is to be happy but instead they give you a dry response or the silent treatment? Truthfully it’s time to just let them go, we all need a support system in our lives. By noticing negative thoughts and swapping them with positive ones, you can suffused your daily life with more moments in improving your health.

Here is a few tips on how to remove negative energy from your life:

1. LETTING GO YOUR SURROUNDINGS:

Let go of any negative surroundings, even if it’s yourself, let it go! We all have our own way of thinking negative at times. No need to be ashamed or feel bad that you have negative thoughts passing through at times. The question is that are you willing to let go of those negative thoughts and swap it into positive?

Yes you are, so do it. Anyone that is around you that have nothing nice to say, sorry it might sound rude cut them off. Those people aren’t supportive not one bit, why keep people around that never have nothing nice to say or just around to put you down.

2. REMOVING NEGATIVITY FROM YOUR LIFE: STAY PUT

One of the easy ways to feel happy, right this moment, is learning how to be still. Listen to your thoughts. You move around all day, working, taking care of yours kids+others, trying to make sure bills paid on time, making sure all your goals for the week are done. Take time out the day to just STAY PUT. Try not to think about what else needs to get done or who needs your help.

When you start feeling frustrated, or overwhelmed by any negativity, take a moment to just relax and stay put. Your mental health is important, some of us don’t take it too seriously because they feel as if they are going to lose out on all the hard work they put in. You have to have faith and believe in the process, believe in your success, know your strength. Understand that if you take a little break your bounce back game is always on top.

3. STOP TALKING ABOUT IT AND BE ABOUT IT

When you surround yourself around people who consistently complain/nag about the same situation all day, you will eventually act on it to and become the exact same way. Others love to play the victim, blame game, and be in denial, instead of being positive about the situation. You can’t accomplish anything sitting around shouting (“Why me?” , “It’s not fair”).

Hoping and wishing also isn’t going to make things happen how you want it to. Don’t be a pouter. Things aren’t moving how you want it to because you aren’t even moving, your at a stand still wanting things to come in a blink of an eye. “Striving to achieve your goals isn’t easy, but neither is feeling lost and unproductive like nothing isn’t going how you want it to in life”. Stop talking about it and be about it.

4. FULFILL YOUR LIFE WITH HAPPINESS

Think about what makes you happy. Take time out to do something fun, and even practice SELF-CARE to focus on you sometimes. We make space intentionally for good things to happen for ourselves. You have to acknowledge all the good things instead of the bad. If you believe that good things will happen then it will. Be around people that make you laugh, smile, bring the inner happiness out of you.

positive

Take care of yourself. Be careful of the company you bring around you. It is your responsibility to not think so poorly of your life and stop throwing a pity party every time something don’t go expected. Focus more on fixing the problem, and figuring out the next steps in moving forward.

Share below: Are you still allowing negative energy and negative people into your life, but it’s not purposely and intentionally? If so, what’s one step you can take today to remove the negativity from your life? What did you do to remove this problem?

HOW TO DO A MENTAL CLEANSE

BE PRESENT

Being present is about letting go of your fears, being free of whatever that was left in the past. Teach your mind to always be present in that exact moment. Staying in the moment also will improve your mental state of mind. Practice more on what is going on now, what do you need to change now, what can benefit you now. Don’t feel scared to lose track of things that matter, because all what you lost track of, will definitely come back. Being present is letting go of those fears and just having a good mental cleanse without judgment in every thought/situation.

IT’S IN YOUR CONTROL, STAY FOCUSED

Whenever I feel like some things are slowly falling out of my control, when stress and my depression is taking over, I try my best to focus on things that I can control in my life.

Is it always really this easy?

Shit no! it’s not.

When you’re going through a situation where you know you can’t change certain things at the time or at all, you can very easily find yourself feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Don’t put yourself into nothing that is beyond your control because it is a waste. There is a difference between taking action and solving through your problems. What you CAN control, is what you are mainly focused on, and know that you will always have power with yourself. Focus on things that you can control.

EMOTIONAL CLEANSE

Having an emotional cleanse isn’t necessarily about getting rid of any feelings or emotions you consider bad or negative. It’s about replacing your emotional feelings back to your normal self. There are plenty of ways to approach an emotional cleanse. I usually find a quiet place, turn on my aromatherapy or light up a scented candle, turn on some music, get my famous pen, and grab my journal. I start off writing:

Today i realized that my stress has…..

Lately, I’ve been feeling…

What makes me happy is….

I have decided to let go of the things that bring me down like,…..

I feel most like myself when i……

When i write my thoughts i feel……

When you write out your issues rather it’s good or bad, you are being honest within yourself, and when you read what you have written, you are witnessing your growth right in front of your eyes. Journaling will help you visualize everything that is going on, you have to be reminded so you can learn from it and leave it in the past. It will help you discover other reasons why you feel the way you are feeling, and any other misplaced hidden emotions. For example, you might discover that your toxic relationship happen to be one of the reasons why you are always moody, or you might come to a thought that you might fear failure, it can be anything honestly.

My best advice to you is to keep a notebook handy so you can always keep track of your thoughts, bad or good. Make sure you write them down and make it useful. Try to stick to it. Once you give up then it’s like the same cycle all over again.

GET RID OF THE NEGATIVE

So it’s understandable that we all go through our ups and down, some of us are emotional and have deep stories behind our smiles and sad faces. But…negative vibes that are always in your presence, it’s not good for you AT ALL! Negativity some how travels along way, and yea sometimes it can be easier said then done that you are going to leave negative situations+people alone, then you some how tend to still be apart of there drama. So, don’t be that person to continuously put up with uncalled for drama. Make negative situations into positive ones, it will show so much of your growth!
