How to practice mindful productivity

“You can do so much at once, but focusing on multiple things at once will not be effective.”

-Seqouia

I’m sure you have lost focus on doing more than one task at once to the point where you find yourself not getting much done as you expected. Especially for those who are easily distracted.

Practicing mindful productivity means challenging your own self-knowledge to find the best out yourself.

To be mindfully productive means to focus on one task, and focusing on one task makes things less complicated. It’s times we be all over the place, so pace yourself and focus on just one. And remember this is just a simple practice so you will not change over night!

So let’s make a habit of practicing mindful productivity, here’s a few things you can do:

Listen to yourself

Stick with your intuition and take a break if you need one.$!

•Take baby steps

Don’t beat yourself down because you aren’t getting done in a timely manner. Your not perfect, no one is. Trying to become a perfectionist is going to interfere your productivity.

Work accordingly

Timing is definitely everything. Work at your natural rhythm and go with the flow.

Establish priorities

Have a list that contains all tasks in one.

Write a to-do-list

Break it down and be specific so you can be able to analyze your task.

Quit multitasking

Slow your roll, and stop doing more than one thing at once.

Let’s start living in the moment try to intentionally bring discerning attention to everything you create & do. Treat yourself & accept who you are! All these things I listed does help with mindful productivity. It’s all about positive energy and knowing what’s best for you.

Hope this helps 💛…

Forgive yourself then Free yourself

Extremely thrilled to write about this topic. I know a lot of people including myself has or had a dark cloud over their shoulder because of something they fault themselves about. Especially when it’s something we have control of. What we don’t realize is that, it’s just a feeling though. A feeling that’s only temporary. Feelings can’t kill you, but running from them can.

We as humans visualize how things can be so much better then what we are currently going through, but not realizing how much power we have to make our visions come true. But when we doubt ourselves, we are lacking and not pushing towards prosperity. Anybody can prosper, it’s simple. But the mind is powerful and you have to compete with yourself, challenge yourself, and to become a better version of you. Our life is a balance and you just have to learn how to maintain it. Holding on to pain just makes you suffer.

Three words:

  • Free
  • Open
  • Balance

Once you forgive yourself. It’s time to free yourself. You can free yourself from anything that can hold you back. Like for me, I am freeing myself from negative energy, negative people, negative thoughts, disappointments, toxic locations, toxic people, lack of growth, and the list goes on. But what most people don’t realize is that we have more freedom then we think. You have to just open up your mind to new things, it’s always good to venture out.

Try writing down what bothers you, and writing down ways you fixed or ways you can fix those problems. Write down why you haven’t forgiven yourself, then write down how you forgiven yourself. This will give you clarity an will help you open up your mind to finding new ways to cope with what’s bothering you.

I always make sure I encourage people to write ✍️ whom reads my articles because writing definitely does help a lot. Especially if you don’t want to go to a psychiatrist or vent to anyone. Writing is a peace of mind. You can come to a conclusion with a lot of situations in your life.

I really hope this blog helps someone out there with clarity or at least given someone a different outlook on how to move forward in life. Remember forgive yourself, and free yourself!

Back from my mental break

Hello 😊.

So guess what? 👏🏾 I’m back, and I’m better.

This has been the most stressful, depressing, and confusing year. From going through this pandemic, family death, not employed, slow running business, relationship issues, money issues, and I can go on and on.

So I decided to take a break for a while to get my mental together. I went through a bad depression, and sometimes I still feel like I’m in a dark place. But I feel 85% better than I did. Sometimes I lack of self control and react in a way where I just give up on hope. To prosper I have to let go and move past any negative that’s going on in my life. And I finally did that. So now I’m here today writing this to open up spiritually & mentally so my readers and supporters can either relate or understand the process of dealing with depression and how it’s okay to take a break away from everything.

Self care is the best appreciation you can ever give to yourself. Focus on what makes you happy and what can you do to keep it that way. ✨

This article wasn’t created to be long, I just wanted to let you all know that I’m back and what’s been going on with me.

Anyways, stay tuned to the next blog & podcast.

Stay free, open, & balanced…. 🧘‍♀️ 🔮 ☪️

Let’s talk Black lives matter and coping with traumatic racism

I would say since these past couple months, but it actually been decades since my black people haven’t been treated fairly. But, we lost another black man name George Floyd and now we are beginning to fight harder for our rights because we are beyond tired!!

My name is Seqouia Battle the creator of bubblegumplease, and i am a 29 year old black woman. I have been followed around in stores, I have been called names such as “monkey”, “african booty scratcher”, “too dark”, “pretty for a black girl”, and I can go on. This is my first time actually talking about it publicly. I’m sure growing up a lot of others has witnessed being called them names before and more. It’s definitely not easy being black at all.

As i type this i get very emotional because this is definitely a traumatic topic. I’m sure for a lot of us. Dealing with racist human beings can haunt people, increase insecurities & lower people self esteem.

What happened to George Floyd is very disgusting not only that he was lynched on camera. That was the most terrifying scene I have ever seen in my 29 years of life watching someone take there last breath with someone knee on there neck :(. Our community has finally came together because we are beyond FED UP. Although I feel it’s not enough, it’s a blessing that things are starting to be noticed.

It’s a lot of information I have been reading on my culture. Things have been hidden from us, things are owed to us, and it’s just so much that hasn’t been revealed yet. We are demanding our rights!

Black people can’t even protest without being picked at by the cops or harassed. We need to end unlawful police violence against black lives matter protesters. It’s not right that we can’t protest in peace. All we want is change, and it seems that the police is bothered by that. Hopefully things get better for the black community because we aren’t stopping until we do! 🤎🤎

I never thought in my 29 years of life I was actually going to be a part of an protest. I definitely love this experience and it’s beautiful. This is definitely historical, I can be able to tell my children about this time.

Here are a couple of exercises you can use to cope during this Racism Trauma:

1. Meditate:

Meditating can be a great coping tool for anyone. Especially during this time right now, it’s much needed. You can find so many ways to meditate. Go to a much quiet space or where you feel like your more at peace. Download meditating apps like https://www.headspace.com.

2. Journaling

I’m pretty big on picking up a pen and writing ✍️ in my journal on my alone time. Journaling helps relieve a lot of stress, depression, and just helps you brain dump a lot that’s on your mind.

3. Talk to someone.

Sometimes talking to another person about your feelings can be very refreshing. Especially if you are the type of person who likes to vent. Express yourself, and let out all what’s bothering you. You will feel like a big weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

This isn’t something a lot of people were prepared for even myself. But I followed all three of those steps, and now I am coping. We have to just stay strong and stick together.

Three techniques to slay your Anxiety

I suffered from anxiety for years, starting at the age of 18. The Panic attacks and anxiety started at the age of 22, and it definitely took over my life and I found myself avoiding any situation I thought could induce my anxiety.

The thing with anxiety the more you ignore it, the more it will come hunt you. Sucks right?…  But wait, the more it hunts you, the more difficult it gets.

Sometimes just getting yourself together, like your appearance can change so much in your daily life. Don’t be a debby downer so much and find love within yourself. When we are stressed we get to the point where we just let ourselves go, and all that do is add more to the plate. You definitely want that plate to be empty with no worries.

In otherwise, SLAY THAT ANXIETY!…

#1 GET IN TUNED WITH YOURSELF

Think about all the good things you notice about yourself. Write it on a sticky note, journal, notes, hell wherever! Find yourself and figure out your happiness. The point where i’m getting to is that in order to be happy you have to make yourself happy. When you make yourself happy then what? you are in tuned with yourself. Can’t nobody tell you nothing different. AT ALL!….

#2 REDIRECT YOUR THOUGHTS

\When you notice you are starting to have negative thoughts then redirect your thoughts to something positive. Before i have an upcoming test, or job interview, I would always be negative. “I doubt i’ll pass” “I can’t do this” “I don’t think they will hire me”. Guess what happened when i had those thoughts? I FAILED! I had to start training my mind to turn a negative back to positive , and i still work on this til this day now.

#3 BE MORE WORRYLESS

We have to get out of that “worry” mode. Sometimes when you worry too much it actually triggers you to have anxiety attacks. We apply so much pressure on ourselves and we don’t have to. Live in the moment and be fearless. When you start to worry, find a good solution that can help prevent that. Remember it’s all in the head. Your mind will play tricks on you, especially for those who minds wander 24/7. So you have to play tricks back by winning over anything that’s stopping you from letting go of your worries. If you can’t make it to your close friend party on time? Hey! it’s not your fault. You still haven’t passed that test quite yet? Keep trying. Your close someone is treating you like crap and you don’t know why?! Who cares, let it go!. Stop worrying about situations or people who isn’t making your life no better good or bad.

What’s going on with me? How To Feel Better When You Don’t Know Why You’re Sad

Honestly, I know a lot of people are guilty of this just as much as i am.

Have you ever just start randomly feeling sad?
Well this weekend i definitely witnessed it.

I felt sad for no reason and I couldn’t help but wonder “what’s wrong with me?”.

This problem can be confusing for a lot of people so i decided to write this article to help you if you don’t know why you’re sad.

I hope it helps you get out of your worries.

3e7ed5b9-af76-4951-9132-2f517d9fc923

WHAT POSSIBLY HAPPENED?

It is a reason why your sadness came about in the first place. But it can be tricky because their are various reasons on what triggered you to be sad, especially if your always all over the place.

Look back over the last week and see if there were any changes or any situations that led up to feeling sad.

Is something off in your relationship?

Did you have a stressful time at work?

Was there anything different about the last few days that could be a factor as of today?

Are you having some financial issues going on?

My best advice to you, is if you can’t figure it out then don’t stress about it all. Because if it’s not actually broke, then why fix it?

We are human, we are made to have a range of emotions and to feel off sometimes. Don’t judge yourself for feeling sad, it happens. The last thing you want is to make a small problem out of nothing.

SELF-TALK TIME

I’ve had to work really hard on my self-talk. Having self-talks has became a priority for me. I’m not naturally a positive person, so I don’t want to make it seem that way. But I do believe that i have to live in my truth.

If you are always telling yourself that life is hard and unfair that is going to feel like the truth for you. Sometimes we have to change our narratives we say about ourselves.

Changing my narratives and self-talks has been so helpful for my overall happiness and mental-health.

Whenever I’m feeling sad or don’t know what’s wrong I make a big promise/change to myself to let go of any negative thoughts & complaints. When you nag/complain all it does is make you feel low and less productive.

Take time out and have self-talks so you can be able to find the solution & fix it.

                      HEAL YOUR BODY/SOUL

Healing your body can be done in various ways.

  • Exercise
  • Meditate
  • Eat more healthy
  • Yoga
  • Explore nature for fresh air
  • Hit a spa
  • Light some candles & unwind with no devices

Sometimes healing your body can help relieve stress & put you in a much happier space.

When I’m sad and let myself sit around it can end up making me feel even worse. So i rather do things i know to prevent that.

Going outside usually helps me when I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I love taking walks and enjoying our nature. Plus you’re taking care of yourself physically & mentally too. So it’s a win-win.

As long as you are doing what you believe is the best thing for you then you are on the right path to a much healthier lifestyle.

Do know that it’s completely normal to go through these complicated times in life.

Truth be told, there are other ways that can help, but these three are definitely important and it helped me. I hope it helps you as well.

Prep talk on letting go shame

PREP TALK ON LETTING GO SHAME

Hello SP Fam!

I’ve been going through a process lately of letting go of shame. I know i’m sure most can relate to this. It’s been very hard, but deeply healing no matter what steps i have to take.

For a while now, I kept parts of my past life hidden & always been pretty much secretive about most things. I was ashamed of the mistakes I had made and the way I used to live my life honestly. I had a lot of fear that people wouldn’t like me or judge me if I let them know the truth. And that is just facts on facts!

As I move forward in life I realize to have the kind of life that I want to have I need to throw out the shame I’ve been holding inside for so long. I’ve been working on eagerly “clearing” my fears as they come up. I’ve started to notice when I hide my real authentic self because of shame. I have made a commitment to stay true & 100% honest now. If I’m not ready to speak out loud about my problems I’ll remind myself to write about it in my journal.

This process has become really important to me but very long. I do believe when I show authenticity and my open spirited personality I give other people in my life permission to do the same and that feels really important to me for the most part.

What makes you open to be more authentic?

Sometimes we don’t always want to be our selves around people because we may not trust them or just feel uncomfortable. but no matter what, being authentic at all times has got me more further in life and gave me the courage to say what’s on my mind and not feel ashamed about it. Now i am able to do things that are hard and give myself that big push forward when it’s needed.

Is it hard to be authentic?

Yes it can be hard, especially to others who “aren’t authentic.” But that shouldn’t stop you from staying true. Maybe you can motivate someone to live in there truth and be just as honest.

Don’t give up on being a better version of you. To elevate in life, you have to make sure people know the real you at some point in life. Embrace your authenticity and be fearless. Some people will respect you won’t.

Like, comment, share, & screen shot for motivation purposes.
