How to Overcome Your Fear of Self-Promotion

I know it can’t possibly be just me who went through this fear of self-promotion. Do you ever get that nervous feeling to share links in your blog or own your social media accounts? Do you hesitate to promote your own work you spent long nights & hours gathering together? Do you feel when you market your products it’s a slight chance you might not get any sales?

Well your not alone on this one! Many people even myself experience fear of self-promotion, especially if you are a beginner and just getting started. But lets put a stop to that fear! Here is 5 tips to help you overcome your fear of self-promotion.

1. PINPOINT YOUR FEAR

So, what are you exactly afraid of? Do you feel that no one is going to support you? Do you fear rejection? Does putting yourself out there makes you question if you will receive rejection? Are you scared of failure? Well, to get over this fear you have to pinpoint the problem.

2. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

If you want to overcome your fear of self-promotion, you have to believe in yourself and your value. You have to know that you are worth more than you think you are. Be humbled, but still think highly of your craft. You deserve as much attention a lot of other people are getting. You are just as talented & business minded. If you aren’t passionate about your work no one else will be neither. You deserve to win & make it to every step you need down this journey, and you will.

3. KNOW YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE

When it comes to knowing your target it’s definitely important when it comes to blogging or starting your own business. You want to make sure you reach an audience that will be interested. When you pin in on who your target audience is, you’ll be creating content just for them which is super helpful on your end. This also helps gain confidence and have more faith. When you know your value and significance for others in what you’re promoting, your confidence will help you promote it in the best way possible.

4. STOP THE NEGATIVE SELF TALKS

If you continue to think negative, you will lose hope on elevating & moving to the next level. Think of the reason why you decided to blog or start your own business, and let that why turn into your motivation to keep going. You are dedicated & genuine about your work your audience will be to. Know your passion, remember your passion, and stick to it. You might be coming out your comfort zone, but know that it will be worth it all in the long run. Don’t overflow your mind with so much negativity & continue to be positive at all times.

5. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECTION  PERMANENT

Practice your pitch. Remember when you are blogging and starting a business you have to market yourself. Marketing is self-promotion. You have prepare yourself to know exactly what you want to get across when promoting brand. Be ready to connect with new people because it’s definitely going to happen. In ordinary to have that comfortability in your brand you have to practice, so your skills can come naturally. After is comes natural then it will turn into permanent. So everything will become more easier for you and you will be fearless.

5 TIPS ON HOW TO BECOME A RELEVANT BLOGGER

There is a lot of people who want to start a blog, But not really posting relevant content that catches the audience attention. Sometimes, people feel as if they post a blog it’s automatically going to get someone’s attention and it doesn’t work that way. Why waste your time posting up blogs Day by day but not doing anything to get attention you need or want. Make your blog relevant, and today I want to show you a few tips on how you can do that.

1. FIND A BAD ASS NICHE

A niche is a specific topic you will be posting about. You know when you go on google and you search (How to be more mindful) and hundreds of blogs pop up, and your clicking on about four different ones so you can get the correct information you need. Well clearly, you can see that topic is popular because a lot of blogs are popping up, so make sure you post something that people actually want to read.

2. CUT THE LAZY CRAP AND GET TO WORK

Yes! Stop being lazy. If you want to become relevant, you have to make yourself relevant. Sometimes we give up when we only get 10 likes on our pictures, 5 views on our articles, and not getting any comments. But what we all fail to realize, everyone started from somewhere. You can’t just wake up and want to start something new and think right then in there you are going to rise up. You will grow over time. Some people have there own time limit when they will get noticed, but you can’t focus on other people and how they are ahead of you. Just do what needs to be done and you will slowly but shortly see how far you have succeeded.

3. CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY

Be consistent with anything you do. Make sure you post daily and share links directed to your blog on every social media platforms. Support yourself first, then eventually people will support you. If you post good topics you will receive good feedback.

4. BE AUTHENTIC

Be real. No one wants nobody to feed them with lies and bs, that’s not a good look. Like when you see other bloggers post “I made $300,000 in a week click here to see how!” Then when you click it, it feeds you with a bunch of bullshit, then tells you “if you want to find out more information save your spot now for the webinar for $250!” Lol! Total scam! Rather if they do have the information, how did they learn the information they are teaching you? I’m sure they figured it out just like how you can. You just have to plan, brainstorm, and not find the easy way in to everything. Honesty is the key to having loyal readers. I don’t know about you but i cling on to people I can trust!

5. CREATE VIDEOS

Videos some how bring a lot of attention. People would like to see you, be visible, chat with your followers or readers. Sometimes physically being visible makes your blogs so much better. Your readers can actually see, hear, and understand you so much better. Sometimes it’s good to just level up and do things a little different.

Hitting your late 20’s? Make the rest of your 20’s a year of self-discovery.

Now that I’m 28 going on 29 in December, I just realized that I started late when entering in to the entrepreneur world. At age of 27 is when I started to think like wow I’m ready to be wealthy. And truthfully I’m sure other mid & late 20 year olds know that this is the most hardest time in our lives. Why? Because we are finally in adult hood and we are experiencing so much responsibilities. Bills, rent, gas, children, school, work, all of those things put pressure on us.

I was stressing more than actually finding myself and really trying to figure out my next step in life. One day I just woke up feeling different, feeling like I need & want more, feeling like this isn’t for me. It’s a honor to be comfortable with who you are, but at times it wasn’t because I was thinking that people will judge me for just figuring out what I actually want to do in life. So now I know I need to fight off any bad spirits that’s trying to bring me down and stop me from moving forward in life.

Our 20’s should be a year of self-discovery. Try different things until you find what you really like and want. No matter if it’s with someone, or by yourself. There’s nothing wrong going on a journey by your lonesome. Sometimes even relationships can be a distraction, and I wish i knew this then instead of now, but hey life is set up to learn and discover.

When I look back I realized how irresponsible I was, I couldn’t save money for shit, and I was so quick to spend. It’s a time in life where you have to stop buying all that expensive shit when you can save that money for your future success. Now that I’m on a journey for financial freedom and independency Starting now, I been brainstorming and figuring out a plan to build & become wealthy. My mind is already set to become a millionaire 1 day, and I’ll never change that or settle.

I decided late in life that I want to become a blogger. So, I started a blog Sixteen Pages. It has been two years, this is my anniversary blogging month. I always enjoyed writing, being expressive, sharing good advice, and discussing important topics, so I knew blogging was going to be something I’ll enjoy. And It was.

So now I listen to entrepreneurial, money making, and uplifting podcast on Anchor, another one called “podcasts” that came with my iPhone, and a couple more other podcast platforms. Listening to podcast has motivated me in so many ways. I’ve changed my thoughts about sex, relationships, and money. I now have a better sense that anything is possible with faith.

At first I was more afraid then happy to pursue my dreams, now I’m ready. I am not afraid to travel now, I am not afraid to take my brand to the next level, I am not afraid to quit my 9-5 so I can start my adventurous lifestyle while blogging. I am ready to travel out the country to learn, explore, meet new people, promote my brand, and to build my happiness.

In the path of transitioning into the new you, you might lose people on your way. But sometimes I honestly feel “if I lose you, that means you were never meant to be in my life.” You will lose & meet new people, it’s possible.

Make sure you focus on self care. Self care has been very momentum in the past few years. Back then I didn’t understand the concept of self care. Self care involves your health, mental health, appearance, etc. Just taking care of you and making sure you are good first is self care. That’s my motto now and my motto walking into 2020.

Be responsible. Sometimes when we get to a certain age, we start to be unorganized, and that is definitely not good especially if you are stepping into the entrepreneurial life. I admit myself that I am not responsible at times and I slip up. And I learned my lesson, like a big lesson. I remember I didn’t plan out my week for paying off bills, and end up doing something totally different and was broke by the end of the week. I went without gas, small meals, and barely no gas to get work. “Can I say the struggle was real?” I definitely don’t want to go through that again. Be responsible. There is an app to by the way. Using a planner has really helped me be more responsible, on time, and way more organized.

If I knew what I know now I’ll tell my younger self to be confident, independent, don’t give up, and focus on what you want and go for it!

“Believe in yourself, know your worth, and focus on positivity & less negativity.”

Don’t use your personal social media account to promote your blogs #MakeAnewAccount

When you you use your main social media account sometimes it defeats the purpose. “My opinion!” I think it is more valuable when you make an account specifically for your blogs. You can be able to explain better in detail, have debates, and all around target the main point of whatever blog you just published. You want to make sure your audience be able to understand, relate, & focus just on that blog, so you can be able to bring them to visit your website. It’s all about posting good content & giving your readers more of a reason to enjoy your content as well.

Use your creativity

Being creative is something that comes natural regardless. Sometimes a lot of people feel they aren’t creative, but don’t understand that everyone is in there own way. Find different things to post on your social media that will bring attention to your social media. Host a giveaway, have a poll on your Instagram story, or go live and interact with others.

Make videos on (Insta story, Insta post, Igtv)

When you make videos, it just helps brings more audience, and also a good way to show your authentic self. Let people get to know your personality, and be able to visually see you. Sometimes by just posting pictures aren’t just enough. Talk about your upcoming blogs, what do your readers want you to blog about next, or just whatever that comes to mind. You are the host remember that, so think of some of your good skills you have, and put them to use. The more you stay active, the easier it will get to start getting people to notice you.

Be consistent with your followers

Yes, consistency is the key. When using social media, your social skills are important. People adapt to those who are communicative & open. Make sure you reply to comments, & DM’s, because that’s what your audience would like. No need to act sassy and ignore those who are asking a simple question, or just want to shoot you some advice. Not even that, but what if a company is interested in working wit you and like your content. You don’t want to pass up good opportunities.

Post daily

Stay active by posting everyday. Even if it’s a simple quote, picture, or just something that you want to discuss. Especially until you build your social media following up, eventually you can make a routine on what days you post, but save that when you elevate & actually have a good amount of following.

HIGH QUALITY
(HIGH QUALITY PHOTO)

High Quality Photos

Photos is another way to bring a large audience. Make sure you download good photo editing apps like Photoshop ExpressPicsArt, and many more. Even myself can admit that when i see awesome photos it brings my attention right away. Sometimes you have to think as if it was you who will be interested.

Use HASHTAGS!

Hashtags is another way to build up your following, actually a quick way. There are billions of users who use hashtags, be one of them. Make sure you use the right hashtags and also switch them up. Sometimes using the exact same hashtags for months & months, will make it hard to get your page noticed. So yes use hashtags! You can search up viral hashtags on google of course.

I hope these tips can help, they definitely helped me in so many ways. Screenshot so you can have them in your phone.

Have you had a point in time in your life when you felt that you didn’t have no one?: Expressions Part 1

This Blog is me opening up, and expressing myself about my life. I am focusing on opening about me more and giving out 💯 my authentic self, pure love & honesty.

Have you had a point in time in your life when you felt that you didn’t have no one? You felt stuck, lost, and just wanted to give up. You just feel a strong pain in your stomach that want leave, and you feel useless and full of worry…

Life can really suck at times, because once you become an adult and your life didn’t turn out how you visioned it when you were 16 or even 18, so you just completely feel like all the dreams, visions, and plans you had was a big waste.

You have all these people thinking your so spoiled, or you just live such a happy life, and your perfectly fine….

Well this is me, I am HER. I have been through so much. Sometimes as much as i try to hide it, it still affects me until this day now. But, I can say i am a lot stronger.

Life can just be a hassle at times. It’s like your fighting yourself to be better and not give up on YOU. But, sometimes it’s something that is trying to pull you back from happiness. It can be for multiple reasons. The energy around you, the way you think on a daily, or just the lifestyle you still live that you know that you need to change it. I honestly feel that has always been my problem, “STICKING TO THE SAME LIFESTYLE.”

Sometimes partying, drinking a lot, dealing with toxic people, can make it hard for better life changes. I didn’t take that into consideration, and i still kind of don’t until this day now. Why?… Because it’s hard to just let people go and i know it can turn into a big mess. But of course my confused self ask myself all the time “Seqouia, why do you even care?”

And of course, I really don’t even have an accurate answer for myself. I feel like my life is based on bunch of confusion. I’m tired of waking up angry, I want to wake up with full of happiness. Although i don’t just wake up mad everyday, but it does happens often.

I had to really sit in have self-talks to figure out what can i do to stop feeling the way i feel. How can i change things without making it my problem to stress about it, and not let it bother me from becoming a better version of me? What can i do to make myself, “SEQOUIA” smile more instead of everyone else?

Sometimes i know feelings within yourself can be temporary just because things aren’t really going right at the time. But honestly, who really wants to even be sometimes “depressed.”

NOT ME!… AT ALL!!

But anyways, these feelings can’t change on its own right? I would have to be the one to fix these issues. As a human of course we don’t feel it’s that easy. We feel that money can change a lot of stress. And sad to say, it’s true for most people! I am one of those people by the way. I will not sugar coat anything i never do. Once i have money in my presence i am totally fine. I make sure i take pre-cautions when it comes to money though, and i am glad i do. One thing about me, although i love money and i may think of other quick ways to make money i never act on my actions, I continue to keep working my damn ass off and do what i have to do.

Over time which is recently, I say about a total of 5 months ago. A little have changed but a lot more needs to still be fixed. Which i am kind of excited about. I mean can’t no one change over night right? It takes time to become a strong WOMAN/MAN, when you have always been weak 1/2 of your life. I always tell myself it’s okay to cry because soon all these sad tears will be tears of joy. Soon all my worries will be complete. That’s the mindset you have to have. You have to know that no matter how you are feeling today, tomorrow, or even next week, those feelings will go away.

I learned over the last few months to be passionate to myself, and to go with the flow. Over time things will be different. Whoever you second thought about being in your life eventually will drift away, all the finance issues you been having will do a full 360, the way you been living will change, and your struggles will no longer be a struggle any more. Sometimes we have to talk things into existence, and keep a positive mindset. I had to learn the hard way, and i mean the HARD WAY. I had to work on being more positive and grateful that i am living pretty okay, because it’s people out there that don’t have a roof over there head and actually need help.

I know i have a lot of goals i would love to achieve but my main goal is “HAPPINESS.” Being happy is more important to me then anything. Because without happiness your life will never feel complete.

I am glad that lately i have been opening up more about myself so my readers can actually get to know me more. I really post blogs to uplift and motivate others, but now I feel the need to just open more to the world, so people can actually feel they know me through words. I look at anyone who is reading my blogs as a friend. Not a “fan or supporter.” You never know who can relate to your lifestyle, and you never know how many people might actually would love to get to know you and learn you.

Opening up and being your authentic self is always a good look and build trust with others. I can write a book about my life and the things I been & go through. That’s why I am sharing to the world and so thankful for god steering me in the direction of becoming a blogger. Blogging is my reliever, my medicine, my go to, and my happiness.

Anyways if you can relate to this blog drop a comment telling a little about yourself that you would like to fix or you can just email it to me 😊.

7 HABITS THAT WILL THROW OFF YOUR PRODUCTIVITY

So many distractions, so many plans… so many goals to complete… in not much time!

I’m sorry but doesn’t it seem like every time you try to focus on getting things done, you begin to feel less unproductive. Try creating a schedule or a to do list. I am more of a scheduler type of girl, and i swear to you that i spend more of my time writing it out then actually doing what i planned to do. Or i end up doing something else important that i instantly get distracted and next thing you know it i am on my phone doing something totally different like browsing the internet looking at shoes & clothes.

The main point is that productivity has always been something you have to level up in, and a work-in-progress, it’s an life experience we all go through. Things happen, things  change, but we have to work around all that stress to stay productive. #1 FACT: Trashing all habits that kill your productivity.

151b1ae6-d55d-4ea9-914c-801e9aea412c

1. TECHNOLOGY DISTRACTION

Of course you would think it’s meant to make our lives more productive and more simple, but for the most part, it is the total opposite. Consistently checking your email, checking your social media before & after a nap, every time your phone notification goes off you pick up your phone fast, or when someone is talking to you but your face in stuck in your phone and not the conversation. That is a distraction, a major one. Those are some things that will kill off your productivity and any digital advice is definitely the blame. Digital devices distractions breaks the flow of your productivity. Your brain has to focus on what is important, or else you will lose out on a lot more thank you think.

2. LACK OF SLEEP

Do you have times when you feel like there isn’t enough hours in the day? Yup definitely. There always seems to be something else you planned on getting done before night time gets here. Some days we even stay up almost until the next day or just go to sleep extremely late just to do something else. Other times we have a hard time shutting our eyes the first couple hours because now our mind just want let us with all the anxious thoughts we are having. Thinking about all the task we didn’t do but we could have did. So we tell our selves, “Okay we will do it tomorrow”, but then we think about how tired we will be because we are still up in the middle of the night now.

Not getting enough sleep can affect your memory, performance, health, and your ability to concentrate. Also lack of sleep makes it hard to make decisions. If this is something you struggle with, work on developing better habits for bedtime. I definitely had to. Try making a schedule for bed time, and find out what can actually help you sleep better (Naturally).

3. LACK OF ROUTINE

Planning productive habits and actually sticking to a routine helped me out in improving my productivity. Now that i am back in fitness. I get up 7:30, take my daughter to school. Come home, make breakfast + pot of coffee. Go work out from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm. Then after all that i come home, clean, and figure out what i am going to cook for the day. After all that, I spend the rest of my day working on my blog. I fell off when it comes to productivity and having a routine. I also began to stress a lot, so now that i am back at it with my routine i have listed above, I haven’t let my stress stop me from taking care of myself.

My productivity depended on those daily habits. This routine is what kept me on the right path, and motivates me to keep moving forward no matter what is going on in my life. Now that i took a big jump back & created a new routine for myself, my productivity has improved so much. Having a customized routine added to your schedule keeps you focused on the way you move daily. Your life doesn’t have be boring, or difficult just stay more organized.

5. PERFECTIONIST

If you struggle with being a perfectionist chances are that you also have that “I don’t care ” attitude. It’s when you’re never happy with pretty much anything that comes your way, everything you do has to be done absolutely perfectly or else you will have a fit. There’s also a lot of fear of failure and anxiety involved, but a perfectionist hides it due to caring about what others think. All of this combined can affect your productivity in a big way, no in a EXTREME WAY. The major key is to really focus on your goals and tasks, rather than that fear of making a mistake, because mistakes are going to happen in and out your life. I feel that being a perfectionist is hard to come by, or just a mind thing. but you can start by changing your perspective, the way you think, and realizing just how often you use it as an excuse to not complete your daily goals & task.

6. LACK OF STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stressful situations can throw you off track. When your mind is clogged up with anxiety, worry, and fear, your productivity falls off. It’s important to know how to manage your stress, and deal with it in a much healthier way. Meditation, yoga, writing/journaling, and just taking care of yourself like you should. Figure out how to cope with repeatedly stress issues.

7. LACK OF DISCIPLINE + FAILURE TO ARRANGE

When it comes down to it, lack of discipline is one of the main habits that throw your productivity off. There will be plenty of days when you won’t feel like getting things done, days when working on something that’s important to you is the last thing you feel like doing. Motivation comes and goes in and out our lives, and you can’t rely on it to always be there, because trust me it’s not. When you lose motivation you sometimes also lose your willing power to be productive. Focus on building habits that will help you become more self-disciplined and learning to arrange your tasks is one of them. Use your willing power to create more habits that will improve your productivity, rather than depending on motivation all the time.

What’s up everyone?! It’s almost Friday and i am feeling good!

I know a lot of bloggers even myself is either having a hard time or had a hard time trying to build an audience. First off, building an audience may seem hard but there is easy ways that can at least get you started on gaining some readers.

Now that you are a blogger, it’s time to interact with other bloggers. As you know that WordPress has over millions & millions of users, basically like an Instagram but it’s a website based platform for bloggers & entrepreneurs.

First off what are you into? Beauty? Fashion? Travel? Lifestyle? Food? Gossip?

I can go on… I can truly say WordPress has it all.

So i made a screen record video and also will put it in writing, so here it goes:

Find Reader, Go to search. Type in whatever kind of bloggers blog site you want to see. Follow, Like, & comment asking for a follow back. Don’t just follow all one kind of bloggers, try to follow different ones. Like poet bloggers, photo bloggers, travel bloggers, etc. Be different, try interact with as much people as you can as if you were on Instagram or twitter.

Get your blog noticed. This is exactly what i started off doing. It’s really simple, and also it;s cool because you get to follow people and they can follow you. You want to build audience on WordPress & off WordPress, because if your blog is monetized you will start making revenue by getting visits & clicks on & off WordPress. Patience is important, especially if you are ready to move forward with your blogging journey, I promise this will help a lot!

Don’t feel your being desperate, or don’t feel to good to go looking, because starting your own brand or getting into this field isn’t an easy walk in the park. It’s a process, and it’s dedication. Also, being yourself, posting good content, & communicative is a PLUS! People want to feel like they met you before, people want to relate, people want to be able to connect with you if they enjoy your content. So keep it up!
